FAQs

Are we able to choose any colour gutter mesh?

Yes. All popular Colorbond colours are available. Sometimes a roof will have different colour gutters to the roof surface and in these cases we are able to order the gutter mesh with colour matched to the roof and the gutter angle bead in the same colour as the gutters.

Is Oz-Roof licenced and Insured?

Yes. Oz-Roof carries public liability Insurance covered up to 20 million. Oz-Roof is a fully licensed building work contractor and can be looked up on the OCBA database.

Will my gutters be maintenance free once gutter mesh has been installed?

The gutters will be virtually maintenance free. We do recommend clients have a battery operated leaf blower and blow any leaves off the mesh to maintain waterflow. The gutters will remain completely free of debris and objects. With the 1.9mm aperture (hole size) of the gutter mesh only dust will make its way into the gutters and this is generally rinsed through with he next heavy rain.

How long will a gutter mesh installation take?

As always this depends on the size and scope of the job. Assuming a single storey house with reasonable access and a gutter run of 70 metres or less, the job would generally be completed in two days. The same tiled roof equivalent would generally take an additional day for mesh installation as the tiled valleys take significant longer.

Is it good to have gutter mesh installed at the same time as a gutter replacement?

Doing both these tasks at the same time certainly has benefits. Obviously the home owner only has the one event of tradesmen working in their home. The other advantage is that gutter mesh can be installed instantly as gutters are installed and this prevents any debris from ever falling into the gutters requiring clean out.

What are some signs of gutter leaks or blockages?

Signs of gutter leaks or blockages include overflowing water during heavy rainfall, water stains on the exterior walls, and vegetation growing in the gutters. Wet or stained internal ceilings. These issues can lead to further damage to the structure and foundation of the house, so it is crucial to address them promptly. In many cases these symptoms are the result of leaf impacted gutters. Often far more leaves are sitting in the base of the gutter than can be seen from ground level and homeowners are not aware their gutter system is not ready to perform until a significant rain event occurs and the gutters overflow or backflow into the property.
